You're Bliss!

He was sitting on the cliff under a lifeless and dried-out tree, musing into his reveries. The sun was setting down upon him at the distant horizon in the ocean, gradually letting the night take over.

He looked up at the sky as a small burst of light attracted his attention. Probably just another fallen star, he thought to himself, constantly staring at it as it shone brighter with every passing moment.

So captivating was the view that his eyes didn't even flicker; his feet were frozen in their place. The star kept descending towards him as he realised that. The dried and burnt grass under his feet started turning green and moist, and the hardened rock under his feet now felt like a soft bed of soil. The cold breeze started blowing his hair as though caressing it with affection. The withered and shrivelled tree under which he was sitting started turning greener, and the leaves sprouted out of the shrunken and wizened branches of the dried-out tree. The stem of the tree and the bushes around it turned greener and moister by the droplets of mist showering down. As though the falling star was painting its landscape on the earth, the tree started bearing the fragrant pink-white orchids, symbolising that nature had formed its bouquet to be presented to the incoming heavenly visitor.

The dark and lifeless night that had covered the entire realm in a melancholic vibe just a while ago had turned blue and charming. As it descended further, he noticed that what appeared to be a star had transformed itself into a human form, a girl dressed up in white, shining so bright and looking nothing less than a fairy without her wings, hovering just above the ground, wearing a serene yet lively smile.

Looking at such a human from the world beyond his, all his melancholy and pensiveness vanished instantly, and an exuberant smile flitted across his face. The fireflies lit up the entire cliff with a yellowish hue of light, and the orchids, as though they were eager to feel her touch, broke themselves free from the branches and leapt before her, followed by the tree bowing with all its branches swaying towards her.

He was awestruck by her presence, so much so that he forgot all his sadness, and all his tears turned into overwhelming happiness. As her feet touched the Earth, nature felt a surge of freshness, and everything around started swaying with the symphony of nature. That's how she came to this planet years ago to dispel its gloom and infuse it with vitality. Today marks another anniversary of her arrival here.
